Locus means place and in archaeology it is used to reference the exact location
of a find or feature within the excavation trench.
This series was inspired by a blank book of paper that I inherited from an
archaeologist. Often starting by drawing playful scribbles, I then go back in
painting over in color (like a new archaeological locus), sometimes collaging and
transferring photocopied images as well.
Each piece has its sense of place.
